TENT by Esther Porter bags are made from the tents left behind at summer music festivals.  Each bag is designed in the East London studio and handmade by Chapman Bags Ltd in Cumbria, England, who have a long history of making traditional British canvas outdoor bags.  The tent fabric is combined with British hopsack cotton bonded with rubber for sturdiness and waterproofing, thick cotton webbing and strong nickel hardware.  Each bag is a modern, rugged, utilitarian reworking of a classic bag shape.

Esther Porter for women is a collection of simply-constructed bags with a graceful approach to detail.   This seasons colours are soft dove grey, navy and sand and combine with navy British waxed cotton.  Double-layered stitched handles provide durability and simple artisan details of thronging and weaving as well as punch-holing to create a handcrafted focal point.  Each bag is lined with traditional mattress ticking.  Esther Porter women’s bags are made in an East London leather workshop ten minutes cycle from our design studio.
